About Make A Prayer

What this site costs you

Nothing. Every text, print view, memorial card and check here is free, with no account, no trial, no subscription and nothing to cancel.

What is free, all of it

  • Reading and printing every prayer text, at standard or large size.
  • Memorial cards and program inserts, made on your own device.
  • The wording check, offline reading and the composer.
  • Copying a text, within the rights printed under it. Most are out of copyright in the United States; the Qur’an text is licensed, and is copied word for word with its source named.
  • The whole corpus as one file, and a script that links prayer names on other sites to their pages. How to reuse the texts.

For hospitals, hospices, schools and congregations

An institution may read, print, copy within each text’s rights, link and use the export, for any number of people, with no seat licence, nothing to sign and nobody to call first.

What you will not find here

  • No advertising, and no tracking script.
  • No account and no sign-in.
  • No paid tier, and no price waiting behind a free-trial button.
  • No charge for a prayer, a Mass or a rite said on your behalf. If someone else offers one, here is how to check the offer.
  • No request for money on or beside any prayer text.

For comparison, what prayer apps charge, each price read from the seller’s own page.

How the site is paid for

Today it has no income: no advertising, no sales and no gifts. Its running costs are paid by the person who runs it.

A promise about later

Nothing published here free will be moved behind a payment. If this site ever charges for anything, it will be for something new, it will be said on this page first, and the texts will stay free to read and print.

Paying for what is still missing

Some of what this site lacks costs money: a credentialed reviewer’s signature on a page of guidance, or a person reading a prayer aloud. If money is accepted, it will pay for named costs like these, each listed below with its amount, and what it pays for will be free to everyone. Four rules hold:

  1. A gift pays for a named cost. It never unlocks anything, for the giver or anyone else.
  2. No request for money appears on or beside a prayer text.
  3. Whoever pays never chooses the reviewer, the verdict or the text.
  4. Every amount here means what it says: received is received, and planned is planned.

This site does not accept money yet. There is no payment account, so there is no way to give, and nothing has been received. When that changes, this page says so first.
