Prayers in Spanish Español
4 prayers this site holds in Spanish, each printed from a named edition and checked against it before it was published.
The Spanish here comes from the Reina-Valera revision of 1909, which is in the public domain and is still the translation many Spanish-speaking congregations know by heart. It is the only Spanish Bible edition on this site, and that is a limit rather than a choice: the revisions people more often read today, from 1960 onward, are in copyright.
The composer also writes in Spanish, and those lines are not translations of the English ones. They were written separately in Spanish, because a prayer translated clause by clause from another language reads like a translation, and at a bedside that is the difference between words someone can say and words they have to decode.
